Free to Ear - Samoa

Helping the people of Samoa rediscover the joy of better hearing

The Bay Audiology Free to Ear - Samoa programme returns to Apia for the third year in early June, to screen people for hearing problems and fit donated hearing aids.

The team was inundated on their 2017 visit with hundreds of people arriving for hearing checks and ear suctions, including an entire classroom of children. Bay Audiology is partnering with local health organisations Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital and SENESE Inclusive Education in Apia. We have provided training for the staff at SENESE so that they can support locals with the maintenance of their hearing aids and ongoing screening to provide continued support after our visit.

How to donate your hearing aids?

If you have a pair of hearing aids that you, or a loved one, are no longer using, you can donate them to the Free to Ear - Samoa programme. To donate, simply drop them off at any Bay Audiology clinic throughout New Zealand.

Thank you

This programme wouldn't be as successful without the support of our clients who have kindly donated their extra hearing aids to be repurposed.

We also want to thank our support in Samoa:
