Our hearing specialists offer expert advice on funding options that may be available to you, making purchasing new hearing aids a much easier process. We will help you apply for funding and support you every step of the way.
There are several funding options available in New Zealand, including:
- The Ministry of Health Subsidy
- ACC Funding
- Veterans’ Affairs
The Ministry of Health Subsidy
New Zealand citizens and permanent residents aged 16 years and over are entitled to a Government subsidy of $1,022.22 toward a pair of hearing aids, or up to $511.11 towards a single hearing aid, every six years. Our audiologists can access this funding for you.
If you are eligible. you can get hearing aids from as little as $450 with the Government subsidy.
If your type of work has taken a toll on your hearing, you might be eligible for funding from ACC. ACC may contribute towards the cost of your hearing aids, hearing aid maintenance and repairs, and replacement of batteries as you need them. They will also provide support for you to replace your hearing aids once every six years.
We are a Registered ACC Supplier and can help you get the process started. Learn more about ACC funding here.
Returned service veterans may be eligible for funding if their hearing loss has been damaged as a result of military service. To start this process, you need to see your GP and contact Veterans’ Affairs. Following this, our audiologists can provide all services to you.
You can get in touch with your local Bay Audiology clinic to learn more about the Veterans’ Affairs process.
