Earplugs for sleeping

What are sleeping ear plugs for?

Your sleep pattern can be affected by a number of interruptions in the night. Whether you have a partner who snores or noisy neighbours, our earplugs for sleeping can put you at ease when you want to relax most, and help prevent you from experiencing sleepless nights.

What are sleeping ear plugs made of?

Our earplugs for sleeping are made out of soft silicone to provide a perfect fit to your ears while also being extremely comfortable to wear. They relieve you from hearing high frequency sounds that can disturb or inhibit sleep. Every pair of ear plugs will be supplied in a protective zip case with an ear mould comfort cream and fitting instructions. All of our earplugs for sleeping are custom-made and available in a wide range of colours to choose from.

Why is it important to sleep well?

Getting a good night’s rest can help you feel more energised, increase your mood levels and reduce stress.  If you have trouble sleeping because of noise, or are a light sleeper, custom earplugs are a great option for improving your quality of sleep.

Who should use sleeping earplugs?

Ear plugs for sleeping can be used by anybody who wishes to block out noises in situations where people need to relax or switch off from the outside world.  They are designed to reduce ambient sounds and are ideal for:

  • Sleeping
  • Travelling and sleeping on a plane
  • Camping
  • Meditation
  • Commuters who use noisy transport such as buses or trains
  • People who work irregular shift patterns or night shifts
  • Students who want to concentrate without being disturbed

All our ranges of ear plugs are available in a wide variety of colours for different situations, which you can discuss at a consultation with one of our trained clinicians in your local Bay Audiology clinic.

How to use earplugs for sleeping?

To put your custom earplugs in, simply hold them the right side up and slide into your ear. The earplugs are designed to fit your ear shape so should fit comfortably in the ear. If you are using foam earplugs, start off by rolling the earplug with clean fingers until it’s narrow enough to fit in your ear. Insert the earplug just far enough to block sound. The earplug will then expand to fill the rest of your ear. Remember not to push foam earplugs in as far as it will go as this can risk irritating the skin of the ear canal.

Is it bad to wear earplugs to sleep?

Earplugs are safe to wear to sleep, however, frequent use may lead to minor problems such as ear wax buildup or ear infections. However, these problems can be avoided if you pay attention to ear hygiene. When using silicone earplugs, make sure you clean them everyday before use. If you are using disposable foam earplugs, you should replace them every few days.
