If you have worked in an environment where you have been exposed to loud levels of noise for an extended period of time, you may be eligible to apply for ACC cover. If your claim is approved, ACC may contribute funding towards your hearing aids. ACC can also cover hearing loss that is caused by a traumatic event (e.g. head injury), or is due to a treatment injury. We are a Registered ACC Supplier, and are here to help get you started. We will keep regular contact with you throughout the application process and answer any questions you may have.
ACC’s level of funding depends on how much of your hearing loss is caused by a covered injury and how much is due to other factors, such as your age or hobbies. Following a full audiology assessment and claim lodgement, ACC uses this information to determine if you have a covered hearing loss injury claim. How much funding ACC will contribute towards your hearing aid(s) is determined by the proportion of your covered injury-related loss.
ACC provides funding that includes both a fitting fee and a separate contribution toward hearing aids. Additional Disability Support Services funding may also apply, which can increase the overall funding available. Depending on your individual ACC band, this can total between approximately $3,000 and $5,000 for a pair of hearing aids. For more information please speak to your Audiologist.
If your application for injury-related hearing loss through ACC is unsuccessful, we can still help you find the best hearing solution for your lifestyle and budget.
